        It's pretty cryptic!
Under my return address in the upper left hand corner there seems
to be the word "TO" with a underline that sweeps up to the right and then
down alongside the main address in the center of the envelope. Then the
main address as a squiggle drawn through it. And off to the right of
the main address, with a circle drawn around it, is "?called for" (where
the "?" could represent as many as two letters: "un", "in", "m"? It looks
a lot like "\/\/\" except connected and the first and last strokes are
longer.). Then underneath that, but still in the circle, there appears
to be the letter "A".
        All this in purple ink.

My best guess is that they thought the address was invalid. Either
that or Dave Brock didn't like the look of my handwriting (printed block
capitals) and crossed it out and sent it back! ;)

Cheers,
Carl
