Well, I'm inclined to side with Venom on this one.  They put things
nicely into perspective on their _Venom Live: Official Bootleg_ album.
I don't remember the exact words, but near the start Cronos is
berating the audience; something along the lines of, "I'm sure there
are people in the audience just waiting for Venom to fuck up.  Well
I've just got one thing to say to them: if you want to hear perfect
Venom, stay at home and listen to your fucking LPs you miserable
bastards..." etc.

I normally find that the artists pale in comparison on CD compared
with their live performances, when I get home and listen to the CDs I
bought at the gig.  It's often quite a let-down.  The better sound
quality just doesn't cut it for me.
