The Captain Rizz track, surprisingly, isn't bad--don't think I'll
spring for the album though! ;) "Xenomorph" is OK and I think it gets the
boost that most HW tracks get from being done live. "Frenzzy" from the
_White Zone_ was pretty dull. "White Zone" from Brock's album, OTOH, is
not bad (though it'd be infinitely better done by a real band with real
instruments, of course!). "Morbius/Brain Machine" from Spacehead was
interesting but didn't quite grab me. The singer does soud sort of like
a Brock/Calvert morph though ;) Alan Davey's "Higher Than Before" was
indeed way cool, though pretty mellow--hope a rocker or two will lurk on
the album (the advert does describe him as "space metal bassist" after all!).

"Coded Languages" was silly but what can you expect from Harvey? ;)
"Angels of Death" is OK but there are better versions. As I said "Yassasim"
was great (though it too, should rock more!).
The "Sonic Destruction (Adventure Remix)" was crap, IMHO. I saw
very little evidence anything interesting or indicitive of talent in it,
excepting Bob Calvert's voice and Michael Moorcock's words which are available
in a much cooler format on _Space Ritual_ :)

But hey, while Hawkwind may be flagging on the music, their album
art is great! The Brock solo, the remix album, Love in Space all have
really cool covers! THe Spacehead album has a cool cover as well, and
the _Alien 4_ cover ain't bad. The Alan Davey cover is little more than a
live photo, but even so looks cool. Even the _White Zone_ has a cool cover.
They should be making this stuff into posters :) I could go for an
exclusive Alan Davey "Captured Rotation" poster. Or a Dave Brock "Strange
Trips and Pipe Dreams" poster. Or a "Love in Space" poster. That would
be cool.

Cheers,
Carl
