Well, it was a slightly thin crowd, albeit with lots of Hawkwind t-shirts in
evidence (and Trev Hughes had a stand), but (especially given that they'd
just got in from Tokyo) Amon Duul put on a damn good show last night! Some
old stuff, some new stuff - which blended in very well - with Renate still
giving it all she's got, and Chris Karrer giving some jolly fine guitar licks
and violin too; and Lothar Meid very cool and very heavy on bass. The
remainder of the band was some younger guys, who did their jobs efficiently
without getting in the way of the stars (evidently Peter Leopold didn't want
to tour).

High spots included "Deutsch Nepal" (simply awesome!), "Lilac Lilies" off the
new album (some really dirty guitar from Chris, who was looking pretty cool
in his Japanese gear), and the closer, "Archangel's Thunderbird"!!!

It was also neat they way they prefaced the show with a projection of the
"All the Years Round" video!

Conclusion: definitely worth the twenty-year wait!
