BOC: Disco or Funk?

I'm sorry to differ, but songs like "Moon crazy", "Lonely teardrops" or the
title track sound very disco-esque to me. What about those handclaps,
especially on "You're not the one (I was looking for)" ? Too much synths,
too, IMO. Which doesn't mean the whole album is bad, I do like a few songs,
like "The great sun jester" and "The Vigil" (which has great lyrics and a
nice progressive touch). And "I am the storm" is an okay song.

Well, of course, you're right, "Mirrors" does sound a lot like "pop music"
too, and yes it has more rythm then disco does, but that's because BOC is a
rock band before anything else. But I'm pretty sure Werman must have aimed
at getting a disco feeling to top it off - and make it sound more "modern"
or "commercial" (by 1979 standards)... whatever...
