Actually, as a couple of other people have pointed out, many fans (some
sane) offer to provide free accomodations at their own houses at each
stop.

I'd like to point out to Star Rats that on both of Nik Turner's stops in
Dallas during his Space Ritual '94 and Spiral Realms tours, he stayed at
Mike Coleman's house, which is 20 minutes (30-40 in traffic) from the
area where most of the venues are (Deep Ellum). Mike and his mum treated
Nik, Del, and Alan Powell quite well (apparently, otherwise he wouldn't
have stayed there a second time), and the time that I was there, Mrs.
Coleman cooked up of the best beef brisket I've ever tasted, not to
mention some other wonderful dishes. Also, having talked with Mike
Coleman recently, he says he has officially offered accomodations to Dave
and the boyz whenever they are in town.

One other thing, though. I really doubt that HW will get 1000 people at
any venue in the U.S., besides perhaps N.Y., Chicago, and San Fran.
(People, prove me wrong, PLEEZ). Most of the venues that are available
and cater to the HW crowd have capacities of about 700. (Trees is about
that, and the Galaxy Club is about 400... the two venues for Nik.)

I'll be getting more info on various venues in the Dallas area soon
hereafter, what with capacities, etc. First from what I know, then from
what info I can find.

P.S.: Do the rest of you have trouble calling venues in that either they
don't answer their phones EVER or they just have a recording that doesn't
give an alternate number? One has to wonder how they EVER actually book
bands.
