Which brings me once again to the MC5, and the track "Starship" (credited to
MC5/Sun Ra) on 1968's _Kick Out the Jams_.  (Though I admit it's easier to
spot the MC5 influence  on Hawkwind after Lemmy joins :)

I'm sure the West Coast scene - Airplane, Joplin - fits into this story too,
somewhere...
