<Picture>New 1974 Live Album To Be Released <Picture>

Research by EMI Premier, conducted for the Liberty/UA re-issue CD's,
accidentally uncovered some master tapes from the early 1974 US and UK
tours. These shows followed in the wake of the 'Space Ritual' tour and
contained much material from that show.

In particular, the recording of the 25th January 1974Edmonton Sundown
gig, which had already been the source for tracks released as singles
in Europe (Note: These appear on the remastered CD collection) and two
shows from Chicago recorded on the 21st and 22nd March 1974.

<Picture>In the words of Doug Smith,
"Everyone remembers that tour for Lemmy's inglorious departure, but it
was actually a huge success, not least for Simon House's induction on
keyboards. And the set was quite different in places to that played to
UK audiences."

<Picture: Blank line>Two of the recordings are not clear enough for
production (too much audience noise), but the first night in Chicago
will be mixed down for release later in the year. These recordings are
not bootlegs and were taken direct from the mixing desk and produced
by Roy Thomas Baker.

This release will be an invaluable addition to the Hawkwind catalogue,
especially due to the lack of good live material, both official and
un-official, from 1974 available today. Further developments will be
posted on these pages as and when they happen.
