Chapter "Gig"

I'm probably the first one to write about this gig - at 01:13h, I just got
home from Amsterdam, only 20 minutes away from my home. (Just a bit over "7
miles from my home", I guess. Who has the record - Jill, I believe, with a
thousand yards?) When will BOC play here?!?!?!?!?!?! :-(((

The gig was great. It was certainly better than last year's, at the Melkweg
(Milky Way). They played as many "new" songs as they did last year (for me,
"new" means after 1984), and they changed the set list concerning old songs.
I guess the set list was the same as it was in Brixton, Ipswich and wherever
they played the last couple of weeks. Old songs Steppenwolf, Hassan I Sahba
and Silver Machine, but they threw out Golden Void! :-( Where's that
Damnation Alley or Quark Strangeness And Charm or Brainstorm or... or...?
We'll see next time.
The sound was great. The dancers were lovely. Very well shaped, if I may say
so. Does someone know their names or something? :-)

Chapter "People"

At the Bulldog, I met with Rob. He found a bunch of fellow UK-ers, watching
the football (USA: soccer) match. He managed to run into Alan and get himself
on the guest list.
Inside the Paradiso Rob introduced me to Bill, Ron and Eli (a friend of
Bill's) and their wives. We shared a few words and a couple of joints, and
enjoyed the show. To all of you, I hope you had a pleasant stay at this small
but free and relaxed part of the world. You got any weeds left for the way
back? (Did they shock me with the price they have to pay for weeds in NY!)
I hope you enjoyed the Tilburg gig as well, although I know Bill probably
wouldn't go. Four HW gigs in ten days, he said, was marvellous. Would he be
able to handle one more? I guess not. Not even Bill. :-)

Chapter "Tape"

Bernhard, I owe you an apology. I didn't do my job very well: I missed the
first song! I know Eli's wife taped the complete gig, complete and including
the first song. I can imagine you would like to get the complete performance,
so you really have to write to Bill about it.
On the first tape I did a really good job of timing. Besides the fact, of
course, that I missed the first song, side A last for about 44 and a half
minutes. Side B has the rest of the show up to the encore, and lasts about 40
minutes. The encore (10 - 15 minutes) is on the second tape.

Bernhard, could you please let me know on which day Hawkwind, Ritual and The
Flower Kings will be playing? If they are all playing on the same day, the
decision is easy - I will meet you there (if you're going, of course). We
could trade tapes there. Otherwise, I will have to send you two tapes. Let me
know.

Jerry
