charmed ME-262 called <Plutonium>?

I noticed today whilst looking at the cover from 'Secret Treaties'
that the fuselage markings on the ME-262 on the cover read: 'PL-
01.'And, in 'Del Rio's Song,' there is reference to 'my ship is
charmed, and called pultonium.'

Al, are the plane's markings connected in any way, to mean plutonium
0-1? This seems too great a coincidence to ignore. Also, the
airfield is ringed by tropical plants, and some people in the
background are wearing sombreros and standing near mission-style
buildings. Is said airfield possibly in Los [Las?] Cristobel?
