This is what I always felt it meant, and it's beautifully done in a manner
which makes it hard to pin them on.  There are double meanings to almost
everything.  Meltzer was corrosively playful with his lyrics.  For those who
simply knew it as a radio hit and didn't pay attention it seemed a perfectly
normal song, and yet it meant exactly what it said...

I know that the song sometimes isn't too popular on here because its success
is blamed in part with attempts on further albums to be more mainstream,
but you can't fault the song for that.  It remains one of my favorites...
