Paradox vs. Down through the Night

I recently listened to these two back to back, and thought that
roughly the second half of each song was quite similar.  Are they
connected in some way (perhaps in the manner of IOTLBIANS and
TR&TB?).  The Paradox track was from the "Lord of Light" compilation
disc and had a note "Single Mix", recorded at Edmonton Sundown
1/26/74.  The DTTN was from "Psychadelic Warlords", which I'm guessing
is similar if not the same to the Doremi version...
