Hi Folks....

First off, has it been really quiet the last day or so, or am I the only one
not receiving any mail today??

OK, now for the items of interest (to some maybe)...

I was perusing the RPM website listings the other day, and came across some
interesting items that I thought I'd share....

Listed as upcoming in May was 'Love in Space' as UK import, so I guess it's out
now...any reviews?? 'Lord of Light' didn't make it on there, did it?? Too
bad.

Also, just released...Roger Taylor's first two solo albums (Fun in Space, and
Strange Frontier) on CD (UK only I guess); this time an official release (it's
about time!!!).

Also...'Moontan' by Dead Flowers....Since they're apparently no more, I guess
this is one of their earlier albums now back in print.....anybody have this
one? On the strength of Altered State Circus alone, I'd guess it's a definite
'to get' album.

A new live CD by Sundial called 'Live Drug' or something...is this a double or
a long (60 min. +) single disc?? I think it was UK only also (at least for
now).

Something entitled Spaceship by Guru Guru was also just released. As I'm only
just now getting into this band, I don't really know if this is an old one
reissued or not....in fact, I don't even know whether they still exist or not.

Other interesting info....
I've just ordered a grand total of eight Amon Duul II CD's that have just been
released on 'Captain Trip' records in Japan....apparently released to coincide
with their recent minitour there. Anyway, some of these replace the earlier
Mantra releases, while some are entirely new reissues...such as Live in London
and Lemmingmania (while being a compilation, actually has four tracks on it not
available elsewhere). And two of them have never been released before in any
form...one being 'Kobe' (six unreleased tracks) and one being 'Eternal
Flashback' (which I guess is a single hour-long? improv piece, also never
released).

So I'll probably be looking to trade off my old Mantra copies of 'Tanz der
Lemminge' and 'Wolf City' soon....if anyone's interested.

Not included in this list of reissues was Made in Germany, and I *think* (don't
quote me on this) that they may be working on restoring it to it's original 2LP
length....hope so....

Finally, the schedule for ProgScape '96 is set now.....

The lineup will be:
Saturday June 29, 1996
1) Fourth Estate (US) - instrumental fusion/rock
2) Porcupine Tree (UK) - space prog is what they call them
3) Miriodor (Canada) - quirky, instrumental (?)
4) Iluvatar (US) - Marillion clone

Sunday June 30, 1996
1) Boud Deun (US) - Driving, complex prog/fusion
2) Roine Stolt (Sweden) - 70's type prog (Yes-like)
3) Braindance (US) - Neo-Gothic Prog Metal (opened for HW @ Limelight)
4) Glass Hammer (US) - Majestic keyboard-driven prog

Doors open at 1 pm each day....dunno how long this is supposed to last....sorry
I guess that with this early of a start, each band *should* be playing a full
set-worth of material.

The venue is the Stephans Hall Theatre at Towson State University in the
Baltimore, MD metro area. Tix are $25 for one day, or $40 for the weekend.
For more info, call Chris Lamka at 'Of Sound Mind' at (410) 529-7082.

They also have a special room rate deal with the local Ramada it seems. It
says here $45/night (up to 4 persons). If this truly means $11.25 per person,
this is something I might very well be interested in persuing (for Sat. night
only) if there are 2 or 3 more people out there interested in travelling to
Baltimore for this opportunity to see PTree live. I'm planning on going to
Saturday show only and will be travelling alone from Columbus, OH - possibly
via State College, PA (my folks place) - to Baltimore Sat. AM - and back home
Sunday.

Lemme know if anyone's interested.

That's all....Keith H. (FAA)
