There certainly have been such things, on the same principle as the
12-string guitar.  I haven't seen one in about twenty years, but I guess
that's the age of the photos ;-{)>

BTW: How many strings does a Chapman Stick have? ;-{)>

I have also come across 9-, 8-, 7- & 5-string guitars in the hands of such
diverse players as Mick Abrahams, Keith Richards & Steve Vai.
