Two purchases I made in London whilst heading south

Mazlyn Jones, Guy Evans with Nik Turner & friends - Live
 on Blueprint BP250CD (c) 1997

Nik is on 3 of the 9 tracks, recorded at the forest fayre 1992.
The stuff is what you'd expect if you've ever heard any Mazlyn Jones, or
seen them play (some of the photos in the booklet seem to be taken at
Glastonbury when they played together on Sunday am). The tracks are
Someone at the door (9:00)
20th Century (6:36)
Spirit Moves (4:17)

If you've never heard Nigel Mazlyn Jones then he is an acoustic guitarist
who uses effects to give a full sound. Nik has been on a couple of other
tracks by him on his records.

nik is described as 'Founder member in free-jazz, space rock band
"Hawkwind". Known for outrageous theatrical behaviour and excellent sax
and flute playing. Recorded solo album in Great Pyramid, "Sphynx-Xit into
Day", then formed band "Sphynx" and later "Inner City Unit" who released
six albums. Current band "Nik Turner's All Stars". Met Maz at Stonehenge
Free Festival, first played with Guy and Maz at Forest Fayre in Wales.
Three tracks from this meeting start this album.'

so no mention of making asthmatic waterfowl flatulence noises, which is
nice.

Other purchase is also on Blueprint, or maybe voiceprint, they cannot seem
to make their mind up, it is (c) 1995 and I've known about it for ages,
but not seen it. Anyway it is the Sting and the radioactors nuclear waste
single, with Nik on 3 of the 5 tracks; Nuclear Waste, Digital love and
Nuclear Megawaste. The last track is 3:19 rather than the 2:45 original.
Nik's sax is not hugely noticeable, but when you have steve hillage guitar
and sting vocals there isn't much room for anything else. The cat. no. is
BP181CD.

And one last comment about the Blackheath gig, they didn't include my
favourite live track, and I didn't even notice until 20 mins after it had
finished. I thought I would be distraught when they dropped 'Welcome', but
I was rocked out.

Cheers
