BOC: Thoughts on Spectres

Hmm. I'd have said "Goin' Through the Motions" is a classic example of a
generally naff song with a "good bit" - you know the bit I mean, "to thee I
dedicate... you sometimes look" etc, all arranged and clever, and quite a lot
of emotion (for Bloom :). But the chrous is screamingly duff.

Although Bonnie Tyler's version was far worse!

_Spectres_ as whole is one of BOC's more time-locked albums, I think - even if
you knew nothing about it you could guess it to within a year or two. Used to
love it, now, I dunno... has its moments. I've been listening to _Tyranny and
Mutation_ a bit lately, though, and that just keeps on getting better - it
really attains "unfairly neglected classic" status.

BOC should really have split up after _Secret Treaties_... :)
