Yes, a very fine book, although in the foreword to my copy (a mid '70s
paperback) Anderson says that he couldn't imagine writing anything so violent
by then.  He also pointed out that the myth of the broken sword was one he'd
lifted from Northen European folklore, coincidentally he'd been sipping from
the same well as Tolkien did for Aragorn's sword in LOTR
