Most bands that do fan-club-only stuff charge the fan club members
for them.  I don't think anyone would expect it for free.  And that
being the case, Sony or whomever could get their pound of flesh for
such an enterprise.  Rights to the songs?  Could be a stumbling
block, though BOC does 'own' some of their own songs, right?  I
believe that's what was behind the song selection for Cult Classic.
Otherwise, you get put in the awkward position of paying someone else
for the privilege of releasing a recording of a song that you
actually wrote!  Anyone ever heard of CCR?  And ya know, none of this
stopped Al from releasing Career of Christmas.  Now, could be he
still owns the rights for the BOC songs that appeared on that tape...

As AB suggests, Al has been conspicuously silent lately.  What's up
Al?  And Al, who made you the guitar that you're playing on the cover
of the new Sony Compilation, Don't Fear the Reaper?  Is that a
Giuliano creation?
