Not quite. They were in fact fashionable for three days in 1988, August
25th-28th. The style police approved of them briefly, on the back of the
Pop Will Eat Itself cover of Orgone, until dumping them in favor of Dr.
And The Medics at around 3.30 the afternoon of the 28th.

There was also a half-hour in March '93 when The Orb mentioned them in
an interview. That window of opportunity sadly coincided with the
revelation that Miles Hunt from The Wonder Stuff knew all the words to
Quark, Strangeness and Charm.

Happily though, the inevitable 25 page Mojo article scheduled for
sometime Autumn 2002 will mean thousands of Rock scholars claiming the
the Hawks have always been their favorite band, are a national
institution and are second only to The Small Faces in terms of
influencing young space rockers, the dominant form of chart music.
