live by BOC, namely the "Harvest Moon," "Still Burning" and other comrades,
and compared to OYFoOYK (I can only do a BOC connection,...sorry HW persons
-J) the room for soloing has altered significantly I think...It's become a
far more compact solo in DR's new tunes while the old ones (Cities on Flame
(in what he does during the break before the swingin' solo jam), Last days
etc) are crammed with the most soloing (notewise) I've heard.   Not to
mention the phenomenon of the 5 man jam they used to do.  So the question
might be: "Can the BOC guitar song structure compete w/ the condensed tunes
of popular rock today?"

Kids these days aren't really used to viruoisty in a controlled, non
superegocharged environemnt (80's)...they might transfer such dislike to
their 70's betters.
