out of doug smith's biggest fan's hands, i'd say. i wasn't going to say
anything, and probably shouldn't. but this is at least the third time he's
done this. i mean coming on the list, opening a subject, then stepping back far
enough to get pissed about how people discuss what he's brought up. a regular
fisherman. i can only speak for myself, but i was called by DS and asked
to promote a show, using only what meager resources were available to me.
despite being unemployed, and uncertain about the future, i was willing to
dedicate what time and money i had left to the project.
i HAD a connection at the trocadero in philly. all i needed from DS was
a promo packet
(which i was promised, but never got), and some dates (which i also never got,
not even ball-park) by the time i had enough info to make a presentation, my
connection had decided that i was full of shit, and wont even talk to me.
also, ds said no ticketmaster, etc, so i was going to be shelling out
cash with no idea how much i was going to lose.
when the band was scurrying around trying to get their flight and visa's
together, DS was in germany promoting "chubba wubba" or whatever their name is.
i know this because the band was calling my wife, thru the week b4 the gigs,
frantically trying to make flight arrangements.
Is management more concerned with passing blame than actually seeing
that things get done?
you rule jon.

apologies for not submitting this post to star-rats for approval before
posting. or maybe i should have submitted to DS. but-- my internet acct
expires in december!
