That´s exactly my opinion too. MAN were great as usual, especially on friday when
they did "Spunk Rock" with NT blowing that infamous riff on his sax. They sold
their new album there, a live double CD (141 min, 2 new tracks) recorded at the
Star Club in Oberhausen/Germany on March 27th this year, a splendid gig and the
best one I have ever seen, even better than their gigs in Jonkoping. It features
their old keyboard man Phil Ryan and it´s their spaciest release yet.
PSEUDO SUN was the second best act in my eyes, though they played only for 35
min. They did some seriously hard rocking, sometimes even black sabbath-like
riffing, space rock. Juba´s bass playing is reminiscent of Alan Davey´s (a
Rickenbacker bass of course). His CD (highly recommended to HW fans!) is
available from: Juba Nurmenniemi, Biskop Jons v. 53, S-17676 Jarfalla, Sweden;or
from Henrik). He is just busy recording his second CD. In the meantime he released
a tape of demos and outtakes on Mick Magic´s Music & Elsewhere label (a copy of
which he kindly gave to me on the festival).
Third best band was DARK SUN from Finland, simply good space rock skilfully
played. They even did Hassan I Sahba and Psychedelic Warlords with NT !
The other bands didn´t impress me much I have to admit. The SPACIOS MIND had
their moments but to my taste this jamming stuff without any song structures
starts getting boring after a while. DARXTAR were not bad either but I think they
have lost some of their magic when Juba left them.

All in all it was a really pleasant weekend with lots of good (sometimes even
excellent) music and was really worth the long journey. It´s only such a shame
that only so few people turned up. Seems like about 50 % of the people there were
playing in a band ! Martin Ace of MAN summed up the festival:
"It´s very nice to be here amongst so few beautiful people. But don´t forget: you
are the ones that are here and everone else is nowhere, man ! ... We make our own
life and this is it, standing underneath a blazing spotlight playing music that
nobody wants to listen to...(some people shouting "We do ! We do !")... except
you mad bastards !"
