The fly in the ointment is that it's illegal.  Personally, I'm an
advocate of "beat the boots," but I don't want to get in trouble from
Doug Smith, Dave Brock, Hawkwind, or whatever, for "bootlegging."  I'm
sure even though I was giving it away for free (e.g. downloadable MPEG
audio), they'd take a dim view of it.  I know trading of live tapes is
pretty much "sanctioned," because it is relatively low-level, but, it
seems, whenever you go to a wider distribution, some people take umbrage
and want to stop it.

So, does anyone know Dave's position on trading live audio?  Do Hawkwind
officially allow taping at gigs?
