     They were not nearly as good as I'd hoped, having heard their albums
and especially after hearing that their gig at the Garage on Monday had
been excellent.  Ah well.  They might have been more fun headlining in a
small venue.  They looked a bit lost and listless up there at the Astoria.

     Truth, though: it _is_ hard to fuck up "War Pigs" :)

     Vigil rocked.  And the repetitive lyrics in "See You in Black" were
not so bad when the chorus is being bellowed out on every side.  I swear,
it wasn't just the list-members up there who knew the words to everything,
it was _everyone_ up at the front.  How was the rest of the crowd, anyone?


     Probably the best BOC gig I've seen--the band was ripping, the fans
were psyched, and there was lots of material I hadn't heard live before.
Can't complain.
