Thanks - I'm the person FoFP mentioned. Short bio:

I first came across Hawkwind at university, '75-'78. I like the band but
I don't know details about them (like who's in or out of the band at the
moment etc.), so I guess I'm not a 'fan' in that sense <g>.

I am an SF fan, and specifically a filker (filk, in short, is SF music
created by SF fans). I'm also a (sound) techie, I've run sound and
recording for one small filk convention and been involved in sound tech
at several others. In October I'm running tech for a filk convention in
Germany with a filk rock band. I have a fair bit of my own tech stuff
(but no PA, we hire that if it's more than we have in fandom).

FoFP said that you're thinking about a smallish gig, possibly 200 people or
so, next year. That sounds feasible to me. I'm willing to do liason with
the SF community and tech (either liason if the band have their own tech or
run tech if they want someone else to do it). Things I don't know about are
venue and finance (you really don't want me doing financial things, trust me!),
but I know people who do know about such things from the SF fandom side.

Now I need to find the archives and see what you've all said so far <g>...
