OFF: Celebrity Influence

>What's most frightening to me is that we've got people like John
Travolta, Kirstie Alley and a shitload of other celebrities asking
our government help strong-arm Germany into accepting Scientology as
a religion; not to mention that these celebrities, who have so much
influence on so many people, are actually practicing it themselves.

This kind of stuff really pisses me off. People who think that
because they're in the public eye, presumably for being "good" at
something, they can dictate how we should act, look, and feel. Who
the fuck is John Travolta to influence U.S. foreign policy?? Because
he can act and dance? Big deal!

It's like this Michael Jordan shit - he tried to strong-arm the owner of
the Bulls into keeping coach Phil Jackson, and because they won't, he's
retiring! Good fucking riddance to him I say! The guy is a basketball
player (albeit arguably the best to ever play the game - although I am
biased toward ex-Celtic Larry Bird - hey, I'm from Boston), he is NOT
the owner, coach, or a businessman. He should stick to what he knows
how to do, collect his millions, and shut the fuck up!

Whew - did that come out of ME?? I'd better go get some coffee... ;-)

John
