 IIRC, didn't just about every major city on the planet take a nuke or
harnessed meteor strike in Niven/Barnes' _Footfall_ ?

On the more justified front of course, both Tool & Bill Hicks are banking
on LA sinking beneath the waters due to excessive amounts of bullshit :-)
