The most interesting thing to me about being more "intimate" with the
band in these smaller venues was actually getting to meet them
personally one time, and not being able to believe how SHORT they are!
I'm only about 5' 11", but I absolutely towered over Eric, Buck and
Allen! It's amazing, because even standing front-center, less than
five feet away from the band, they all look really tall up on stage.
Especially Allen, who has that "gaunt" thing going on.

Fun night, BTW. I think it was 1995...tomorrow to the day (I remember
cuz it's my birthday!) Allen and Buck were very cool. Eric was having
a bit of a "snit". I was told it was because the boys had been
traveling like madmen and had about another zillion miles to go THAT
NIGHT (They were in and outta town in a day, no hotel room -- the
performance was a last-minute add-on to their tour schedule). John
O'Reilly was the drummer then, and actually the reason I got back
stage. A friend of mine is an old, dear friend of his.
Sadly, I don't think he'll ever be back with BOC. He was apparently a
bit miffed about not being the HF drummer. I think he felt sort of
screwed out of it. Last I heard, he was back with Rainbow. He's the
drummer on their "Stranger In Us All" album. His picture is on the
back cover.

The biggest surprise to me was Danny. Just from watching him onstage,
I didn't like him. I don't know what it was, but somehow his presence
gave me the impression that he was a jerk. But in person, he was
unbelievable! Definitely the most personable of everyone in the band,
at least on that particular night, and he acted genuinely humble and
appreciative of the fans. I really liked him.

Does anyone know how tall Al and Joe are? And did they have to leave
the band because they made the others look too short? : )
