Scotland is pretty much considered to be the fadeout bit at the far
end of the universe as far as touring goes - I suspect they fear they
are going to run out of road or fall off the end of the country or . . .

I'm in Derby and I have to agree with Jills comment here, even bands from
around here don't seem to travel much beyond Mancehester/Liverpool.
Most of the 'southern' based, i.e Brighton etc bands don't seem to want
to go any further than Derby/Notts, I put it all down to "Watford Gap
Syndrome",
which can be explained if you watch the tour driver as he progresses up the
M1 or
M6, he gets to turnoff and spins round exclaiming things like, where is this
provincial backwater we're headed for......
