Has anyone read a book called 'A Riot Of Our Own' by Johnny Green? I looked through the FAQ but could find no reference.
It is an account of Johnny's 3 yrs as the Clash's road manager. It contains a hilarious BOC anecdote lasting a few pages.
To summarise - it involves the time around which Sandy Pearlman was going to produce the 2nd Clash album and they were invited to see BOC at the Hammersmith Odeon in London- a gig which incidentally I attended and met Mick Jones (Clash guitarist) in the foyer and got his autograph on a Spectres cover. The incident ends in a wife of a member of BOCs entourage (it doesn't say which) getting caught in the way of a food fight. Also, as I remember, Allen played keyboards on Give 'em Enough Rope. In fact - I can remember a quote at the time in which (I think it was Paul Simonon) said to Allen "I suppose you know everything there is to know about keyboards?" to which Allen replied "No" and they then went into the studio to record.
