It used to be a contemporary/classic rock station, and not a bad one at that.
Then it was bought by Infinity broadcasting, which was then bought by CBS, which
was then bought by Disney (or something like that. I don't remember it too
clearly because I wasn't paying much attention while it happened). It somehow
became Boston's captain of  Alternative Music overnight, even though the Top 10
stations had been playing all that crap for several years.
