Actually, that is incorrect, the examples are NOT the same.  "Color" and
"colour" are simply different spellings of the same word.  Compliment is not
an alternate spelling for complement, they are two entirely different words,
which mean two entirely different things.  Compliment: to offer a token of
esteem.  Complement: to make a thing complete.
