(They are heavier, but *not* metal.  I've often heard it said that they
have a "darker" sound than most jam bands [though they cover a big range
of styles], which I'm sure might appeal to a BOC fan.  Hawkwind fans
will enjoy the monster extended improvs, e.g., 20-minute "Trane,"
30-minute "Afro Blue," etc. [fans of early Hawkwind, at any rate].  Carl
is right, though: they are _effing_ heavy!)

You might do worse than to pick up the new live album, if you're into
jam bands.  (You can sing along with Warren as he massacres the lyrics
to "War Pigs.";)
