Brixton directions

Hello,
anyone out there familiar with the London area would like to give advice on
getting aroung from airport (not picked yet) and hotel (not picked yet) to
and from Brixton Academy.
Also, anyone familiar with the venue itself (ie: internal geography), I have
some specific questions.
