...I was DIRECTLY QUOTING Consumer Reports. The repair rates that Consumer
Reports listed were 2 to 5% of single CD changers and 5 to 10% of multiple
CD changers.

Obviously, the vast majority of BOTH styles are just fine. And, there were
certainly some brands that were much better long-term performers than
others.

Really?  Yow!  Now I feel lucky...I've been using a 6-CD changer heavily for
the past seven years and have had no problems...
