Bob,

It isn't a visual media sf convention, but primarily for written sf.
No media guests, I'm afraid.  Just lots of writers, artists, editors and
assorted other stuff.

Best days to go:

If you wish to be there for the dealer's room feeding frenzy: 8/30
If you just want to catch good programming and parties: 8/31 or 9/1

Note that it's kind of pricey for one-day fees:

At-the-door membership rates for the full convention are: Adult
$200; Child $50; Adult one-day rates: Thursday $50; Friday $65; Saturday
$85; Sunday $80; Monday $35; Child one-day rates: $15.
