OFF: Followup DVD question

Oh, so the player's output is then 'NTSC' or 'PAL' no matter what the DVD
is? Then a Region 1-playing DVD player (power-adjusted) plugged into a Swiss
TV set is no good, no matter what the DVD is encoded for?

I'm stupid.
