OFF: Followup DVD question

This is where is can lead to tears.
I bought a DVD player from the States (I live in Belfast) and it wouldn't
produce a watchable image on my TV. I bought a new TV which supported both
PAL and NTSC input, and everything is fine.
It's one of those awkward bolloxes, 'cos even after finding a power
transformer to drop the voltage from the UK 240v to the US 110v, I still had
to get a new telly.
Happily tho' the bank said OK, and I got a nice 38" widescreen...

Chris.
