Pearl Jam Break Their Own Record With Seven CDs Entering the Billboard Top
200 Chart Simultaneously; First Time in History Any Artist has Had Seven
Debuts in the Same Week

A Total of 72 Double Live CDs From the Europe and US Bootleg Series

On Wednesday, March 7, Pearl Jam made history again with the simultaneous
debut of seven CDs on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The seven CDs are among
23 double live bootleg CDs from leg one of the band's 2000 US tour which
were released on February 27. Today's chart entries break the band's
previous record set last Fall when five of their 25 European bootlegs
debuted in the same week on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

On March 27, Pearl Jam will release 24 CDs from leg two of their US tour:
bringing the grand total of Pearl Jam bootleg double CDs to 72 (with one
triple CD) from their 2000 European and US tours. In addition to being
available via retail outlets, Pearl Jam bootlegs are also available through
the band's website at pearljam.com.

The following seven CDs made their debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart:

Jones Beach, NY - August 25 - entered the chart at #159
Boston, MA - August 29 - entered the chart at #163
Indianapolis, IN - August 18 - entered the chart at #174
Pittsburgh, PA - September 5 - entered the chart at #176
Philadelphia, PA - September 1 - entered the chart at #179
Tampa, FL - August 12 - entered the chart at #181
Memphis, TN - August 15 - entered the chart at #191

The seven titles above sold more than 50,000 copies combined. The European
bootlegs have sold one million copies combined worldwide to date.

"Once again, Pearl Jam has changed the way we view the marketplace. Pearl
Jam consistently push boundaries and write their own rules. The best part
is, their fans reap the benefits of these unprecedented choices. We are
proud of the continued success of all the Pearl Jam bootlegs," says Epic
Records President Polly Anthony.

The idea to release the bootlegs was initially conceived by the band as a
way to provide fans who were purchasing high priced, low quality unofficial
bootlegs with a better quality, less expensive alternative.
