no - you are right - if someone orders something from CDS that we know is
not available they can be told right away. The problem comes when a record
company does not delete an item but that item is out of print - yuo never
know if the company will repress or not, so you keep the order going to se
what happens. We have had oprders on the go for up to 8 months (at the
request of the customers I might add) only for that item to turn up as a
repress suddenly appears out of the blue. It is not the customer's fault but
there is one hell of a lot of ambiguity around worldwide when it comes to
ordering CD's and too many times the companies just refuse to deleted
something that they know they are not going to repress or fail to announce a
deletion so that every wholesaler and importer exporter keeps it on the
database. Believe me, things can get incredibly complex - Akien 4 and even
'Love In Space' dbl CD are not classed as deleted but yo try ordering them
from a normal new CD retailer.
