yep.  I assume that you've tried to connect to irc.dal.net and didn't get
anywhere?

(...and that your server admins don't want to open up port 6666-6669?)

There are irc to http gateways, so that if you can see internet web
pages from behind your firewall, then you can use irc.

I'll have some info soon, I hope.
