And Lemmy makes some comment about it not being too serious, which is pretty
far from the truth.  If he fails to keep his blood glucose under tight
control, his diabetes will result in early heart disease, kidney damage,
nerve damage, and retinal damage, in addition to a substantially increased
risk for opportunistic infection.  Although he isn't using insulin now, type
II diabetes can progress to a point where he will require insulin.
