You gotta appreciate a guy who could write upbeat, lighthearted songs about
being a male prostitute/hustler ("53rd and 3rd") or the pathetic junkie
grind ("Chinese Rocks", co-written with fellow junkie Johnny Thunders),
both from personal experience.

If not for the Ramones, I don't think I would have been able to fully
appreciate the genius of Hawkwind's numerous, fabulous, three-chord wonders.
