Another neet trick while you do that is to step on a cat with your left foot (cat is nailed to the stage) on the second and fourth beats of the measure.  Then!  with your right foot stepp on a fruit bat (which is also nailed to the stage) with your right foot on the first and fourth beat every fourth bar.
With the right delay settings you can get a very impressive sound going.  A good one for an acoustic unplugged space rock session.
