Silber Records & The Nightlight present:
People Who Should Not Play Acoustic Guitar: A night of extraordinary
musicians out of their element
www.silbermedia.com
Thursday August 7 at the Nightlight (405 1/2 w rosemary st, chapel hill)
doors open at 9pm, show starts at 10pm
The acoustic guitar is normally thought of as a safe instrument, as
something to back up a folk singer. But in reality it is a set of metal
wires pulled to tension trying to break a wooden body. With this in mind we
bring you "People Who Should Not Play Acoustic Guitar", a line up of
experimental & hard playing musicians taking up the instrument as it was
before Les Paul was born & running it through the gamut.
Featured artists: Brett Hart (percussive guitar player & instrument
improviser), Brian John Mitchell (aggressive ambient guitarist of Remora),
David Bjorkback (percussionist of Razzle & the entirety of The Torch
Marauder), Scotty Irving (percussionist of Clang Quartet & Benjomatic),
Peter Aldrich (jazz & soundscape guitarist)
