Motorhead Goes 'Stone Deaf' With Box - from Billboard

The output of legendary metal act Motorhead will be celebrated Oct. 7 with
the Metal-Is/Sanctuary release of the five-CD box set "Stone Deaf Forever!"
The first Motorhead-approved box set, "Stone Deaf" will feature 99 tracks
spanning the group's career.

Formed by vocalist/bassist Lemmy Kilmister, late of Hawkwind, in 1975,
Motorhead honed its battering blend of speed-metal rock through a plethora
of
lineup changes. "Stone Deaf" includes recordings stretching from the band's
early days through 2002. The hits and rarities will be complemented by 19
previously unreleased tracks and decorated with a 60-page booklet featuring
essays and unpublished photos.

Of the set's five discs, four are organized chronologically, with the first
covering 1975-1980, the second 1981-1986, the third 1987-1996 and the fourth
1996-2002. The fifth is a live disc spanning 1975-2002.

The unreleased tracks stem from a BBC "Peel Session" in 1978 ("Louie Louie,"
"Keep Us on the Road," "Tear Ya Down" and "I'll Be Your Sister"), as well as
BBC Sessions from 1980 and 1986 featuring "Live To Win," "Like a Nightmare,"
"Killed by Death," "Deaf Forever," "Orgasmatron" and "Dr. Rock."

Motorhead's current lineup of Kilmister, drummer Mikkey Dee and guitarist
Philip Campbell is on a summer North American tour with Iron Maiden and Dio
(the elf you love to hate "). Last September, the band released a 25th
anniversary DVD, "25 & Alive: Boneshaker: Live at the Brixton Academy"
featuring guest performances by Brian May (Queen), Whitfield Crane
(Medicine,
Ugly Kid Joe), and former Motorhead guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clark.
