am stoked that i missed Bristol; was only 50 miles awy but other comittments
meant i couldn't go: in any case one 'poor' or 'contrary to expectations'
gig does not kill a band like HW- i recall seeing them in  (i think) St
Albans in 1988 and they were shite; all drunk i think, and it was a downer;
with people in the crowd saying they'd lost it for good and the band was
finished, but next gig they were back to thier best
