Cool!  Thanks for the pointer.  (Clearly I was rather
misremembering things -- both the inscription and the object
itself.  Well, it's been 20 years....  It *was* at the BM though,
as part of a big exhibit on Anglo-Saxon art -- presumably on loan
from the Ashmolean.)
