	Hej

IT is with great sadness that I have to let everyone know that
we lost one of my good friends and an amazing musician and encyclopedia
of knowledge. Doug Walker from the band Alien Planetscapes died of a
heart attack on April 4th at his home in Queens. Doug was an amazing
person who had a intense depth of knowledge on many subjects from
politics to music to the inside and out of synthesizers, etc.. Taking
with Dug was never uninteresting and it was always difficult to stop. As
many of you probably know Doug suffered from Type 1 diabetes (the early
onset auto immune form) and this is what directly contributed to his
poor health the past many years.

Doug is the one who inspired me to start my own completely
improvised space rock band called the Oresund Space Collective. We live
and breath in the same spirit as Alien Planetscapes did. IT was a dream
of mine to have Doug play with us or to record in his home studio, but
this will sadly never happen.

Doug and I were good friends and traded music over the last 15
years and talked on the phone every couple of months. I had just
purchased the domain name www.alienplanetscapes.com and was starting an
AP web site and spoke with doug last friday about this on the phone and
must have had 20 mails in the last week including one on Monday. Jerry
Kranitz and I are going to make this site happen and try to get as much
of the AP music available to the fans as well. IF anyone has pictures,
concert flyers, memories, etc.. please contact me or Jerry.

We lost one of the great ones and I am deeply saddened but life
must go on.....................
