People, there are jerks at every kind of gathering, especially one for a
somewhat niche event.  Jerks at gaming conventions, science fiction
conventions, comic-book conventions, bridge tournaments, jazz festivals, etc. 
Just ignore them.  Most of the people I meet at NEARFest are very nice.
